Doykin Richards made national and international headlines after posting a photo of himself taking care of his two daughters, and getting an unexpected tidal wave of hate online. In this exclusive interview on “The D.L. Hughley Show,” this doting dad opens up.
Doykin Richards talks to D.L. Hughley, Jasmine Sanders and Steve Wilson about why and how the photo was taken, and he also gives his opinion on why people responded with so much hate to a picture that was posted with only good intentions.
This topic was also the subject of a very heated exchange between D.L. Hughley and a caller. And as the father of interracial children, Doykin Richards has strong thoughts about being criticized for not being Black enough.
But all of the harsh comments about him have not affected him as a parent, and he stated “I was born to be a dad” on “The D.L. Hughley Show.” Doykin Richards added, “I am a damn good dad,” and revealed that being a great parent is natural for him because he doesn’t know any deadbeat dads.
D.L. Hughley and Doykin Richards also talk about D.L. being harshly criticized for allowing his daughters to sleep in his bed with him.
