Lana “MC Lyte” Moorer is unarguably one of hip-hop’s greatest pioneers. Her musical contributions from “I Cram to Understand You (Sam)” to “Ruffneck” cemented her a place among the top echelon of female MC’s. In recent years, Lyte, now 42, has been acting and hosting TV shows and events and looking great. But Lyte’s not satisfied with just being a hip-hop legend. This year, as part of her Hip-Hop Sisters Network, she’s launched the “Hip-Hop Sisters,” a group of female rappers who hope to find new female MC’s to follow in their footsteps.  The Sisters – Lady of Rage, YoYo, Monie Love, MC Smooth, and Li’l Mama will hold auditions this Thursday in Los Angeles at Cascade Nightclub 6611 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood at 6 p.m.
