Chuck Brown Memorial Park Groundbreaking to be Held

The late “Godfather of Go-Go” Chuck Brown will be celebrated today in Washington, D.C.
According to local affiliate WJLA, a groundbreaking ceremony will occur at noon today for the creation of the Chuck Brown Memorial Park.
There will also be a special performance by the Chuck Brown Band at the Howard Theatre Thursday evening to celebrate the late musician’s life.
Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray announced August 22, Brown’s birthday, as “Chuck Brown Day” in the city.
Brown died on May 16, 2012 from complications from sepsis.
