Maryland Gov. Wes Moore announced Thursday that McDonald’s will be creating 4,000 new jobs in Maryland this year. This new push for employment is a part of an initiative aimed at expanding career opportunities, through the program employees can improve their English skills, work toward a high school or college degree, and more.

Gov. Wes Moore said the state is working closely with McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program, 

“Now, this commitment is part of McDonald’s work to mark the 10th anniversary of its founding of its flagship Archways to Opportunity program. Archways is helping McDonald’s employees not just gain employment, but also to gain new skills that they are building during their employment,”
