Return Of The SMACK: Singer Mark Morrison Arrested For Battery

Singer Mark Morrison, best known for his ubiquitous 1996 hit “Return of The Mack,” made his return to the headlines this week… and NOT in a good way!
TMZ reports that the singer was arrested over the weekend following an altercation at a Florida restaurant.
According to the police report, Morrison stormed into Le Bar à Vin in Palm Beach on Saturday evening (Mar. 22), where he began to yell and curse at the general manager. The altercation allegedly stemmed from the singer’s dissatisfaction with an event he started planning with the venue the previous day.

Witnesses told the officers that things escalated to the point Morrison allegedly pushed the manager, Nicola Lavacca, in his upper body. Lavacca did not fight back.
A witness separated the two parties, according to the report, asking Morrison to step outside. Based on the evidence, Morrison was arrested on a charge of simple battery. He was released Sunday morning after posting $1,000 bond.
TMZ reached out to Morrison’s rep, but they have yet to respond.
