Shelly Garrett’s ‘Beauty Shop’ Could Be Coming To A City Near You
“Bea-uuu-ty Shop!” remember that radio ad? Beauty Shop the stage play created by director Shelly Garrett is celebrating 30 years of being in production. Kym Whitley goes way back with Garrett as she went on tour with the show for three years.
“I think we were there almost four years, 66 cities, and 851 performances,” said Garrett proudly.
Over the 30 years of this plays production the show has seen the likes of many actors and actresses that have graced the stage with their talent.
“I like giving people a chance you know what I mean?,” said Garrett. “But theatre is supposed to teach you one thing and that’s discipline.”
