Roland Martin: Here’s Why The Steel & Aluminum Tariff Won’t Work
President Donald Trump recently signed into order tariffs on the steel and aluminum industry that he believes will help the economy and the American people. However, many have disagreed with him and warned of the damage that it can cause the United States.
Roland Martin talks with Ron Kirk the former Trade Ambassador under the Obama administration about the effects of the tariffs and why it won’t help.
“He (Trump) didn’t really layout a strong economic rationale. He did this under the guise of protecting our nations security,” explained Kirk. “It’s so broad and so vain that it invites other countries to do the same thing.”
