With Black Panther coming out and turning into such a big hit some people have some serious after thoughts about it. Like wondering why comedian Godfrey wasn’t in it?
“You know what I’m saying. Everybody, like everyone was on African alert,” laughed Godfrey. “They called me like, ‘why weren’t you on it.’ Because I would have been and I’m practicing for Black Panther 2. I’m throwing it out there.”
In an excellent African accent Godfrey says, “T’Challa I will take over your kingdom. I will have the vibranium for me and my tribe.”
Whether he gets in the sequel or not, Godfrey was very proud of the movie and the effect it had on people.
“I mean you saw it Tom you saw the movie. I mean I was swelling with pride. It addressed so many issues. So many issues,” expressed Godfrey. “It was so good and everybody was dressed as king of Zamunda. It’s no different then people dressing up for Star Wars.”
Catch Godfrey in Nyack, NY at Nyack Levity Live February 23-25.
