What happens when a white police officer accidentally kills a Black teenager and tries to hide the crime? Russell Hornsby knows as he’s starring in the Netflix series Seven Seconds that answers this question.
“Seven Seconds is a story about a white police officer that kills a Black teen and how once that event happens how it affects three segments of our community,” explained Hornsby. “We look at the perspective of the police, the perspective of the prosecutor and lastly we look at it from the perspective of the family.”
In the series, Hornsby plays the husband to actress Regina King and spoke about how honoring it was to work with her.
“Regina, I think is one of our greats,” expressed Hornsby. “She can get down to the bottom with such grace and dignity. She really raised the level of the project when she signed on.”
He continued, “To have such a veteran on board who really just taught us a lot. I also believe that her experience as a director and as an actor has helped with other actors.”
Seven Seconds has 10 episodes that will be released on Friday, February 23.
