Ms. Tina Lawson had to get some things off her chest after racist trolls — including conservative talking head Tomi Lahren — took to social media to pop off about Beyonce’s speech while presenting the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award to Colin Kaepernick at the 2017 Sports Illustrated Awards Tuesday night.

“Colin took action with no fear of consequence or repercussion, only hope to change the world for the better,” Beyoncé said. “To change perception, to change the way we treat each other, especially people of color. We’re still waiting for the world to catch up. It’s been said that racism is so American that when we protest racism, some assume we’re protesting America.”

Tomi hopped online Wednesday morning to react to Queen Bey’s speech, saying: “Police-hating Beyoncé presents police and America-hating Kappy with a ‘legacy’ award. This is how far we’ve fallen. Wow,” Lahren tweeted, alongside a  photo of Beyoncé and Kaepernick during the event.

Beyoncè stressed during her speech that “Colin has always been very respectful of the individuals who selflessly serve and protect our country and our communities and our families. His message is solely focused on social injustice for historically disenfranchised people. Let’s not get that mistaken.”

After accepting the award, Kaepernick said, “With or without the NFL’s platform, I will continue to work for the people because my platform is the people.”

Bey’s mom unleashed a lengthy response to critics of her daughter’s speech and to those who choose to misinterpret Colin’s message.

Wow what a powerful statement !! Thank you Beyonce for being brave enough to say what many of us are thinking!!! Translates to me as : when you protest injustice and racism & put a spotlight on it that means that you are being “ Un American “or disrespectful to our country ! What does that say about this Country? Our current administration would have you believe that the protest was protesting the flag and the national anthem !! Wrong!!! There is no mention of the purpose of his protest which was the killing of innocent unarmed black men and racism in this country. The constant smokeScreens and deflecting that’s done every day is laughable! That is the game that they play with us every day about everything. They would have you believe that this is about people disrespecting the flag or disrespecting our soldiers. What bullshit? It’s very interesting that in Beyoncé s speech She makes it crystal clear that Mr. Kaepernick nor anyone else was disrespecting our soldiers or The good police officers the ones that really do protect us every day, and we have the utmost respect for. Or the Flag. Its interesting that I don’t see that printed as often as the other part which i have read over and over. I just have to say that in my opinion if you are a person that is a good human being and devoid of racism but that when you hear or see injustices being done to someone else and you don’t stand up and say something about it, when you can conveniently look the other way , you are complicit in this behavior and are almost as guilty as the person perpetrating it! I don’t expect everyone to get it!! I do expect that this is going to piss a lot of people off and if it does you are exactly who I’m talking about if the shoe fits wear it! My prayer is that this will inspire at least one person to please stand up today to injustice !!! ❤️

  1. Tina, do not waste your time. The success and what Beyonce have done even with the super bowl honorary the Blacks panthers and Michael was great and let alone all the other good things she does. It only means Beyoncé has made it to the top.

    • I agree but those people know the deal but they want to deflect the issue because as said, if the show fits wear it and they do not like being called out on it. If something stank in the room and everyone is calling out that stank smell yet I am the only one want to talk bees and honey, it is probably because it is something stinking about me that I want to avoid discussing.

Wow! I just finish reviewing comments that were made about Beyonce. America need to wake up. There is so much racism in America. If you are not white, you are not right was a slogan that I use to hear when I was a young girl. I’m not racist by any means but whites are the only race that have stolen other peoples property and continue to do so and yet we close our eyes and look the other way. It saddens me that Colin who is a Black man was protesting the injustice that Black men like himself and Brown men are being treated as tho they are animals and that they are not worthy of anything less than death. It was not about disrespect of the flag as it has been alleged but about that segment of America that wanted us to believe that.

Tomi Loren is a stupid racist white devil raised by stupid ass white devil parents. She drinks from the same racist juice starting from birth most racists drink, (some people call this the devil’s breastmilk), not to be confused with the milk of the puppy lol.

If you believe that Colin’s protest was about anything more than police brutality against unarmed black men and boys specifically, but POC generally, committed by police and “others” than you are a RACIST. If you think this protest was about disrespecting the flag or anthem or being anti-America or soldiers (who btw fight for this freedom on a daily basis), then you are a RACIST. You need to look into your mirror and just admit this to yourself.
Because Colin spoke out against racism in America towards some of its citizens don’t make him anti-American, it’s makes him AWARE. The fact that he sacrificed himself and his career to take this stance JUST LIKE MUHAMMAD ALI did, whom by the way was HAILED A HERO for doing so, speaks volumes about his character and who he is.
All you RACISTS MOFOs need to take a seat and STHU. If you are not trying to fix the problem, you are part of the problem. If you have nothing good to say or anything that will move this country into a better place, then SAY NOTHING!

You’re the person being referred to in this post. Denial is a helluva drug, and you sound as if you’ve od’d on it more than once.

You sound like and probably are a “hater”. Your comment is at a level of maturity smaller than your shoe size. You are one of those individuals that Tina was speaking of and probably blind to what is going on in this Country. Try to READ and UNDERSTAND what people write and not focus on so much hate. God knows there is enough of that going around, but if you change your attitude and focus on the positive, you wouldn’t make yourself look ignorant and foolish with the negative comments, Louise. Make a difference. Be a part of positivity. You can do it.

      • I consider myself a positive person and not stupid like yourself. This woman is a fake phony who does anything for attention. Do you really think she cares about this situation. NO
And it’s dumb dumbs like you who keep this idiot woman in her huge ego. All of you need to sit down somewhere.
