A New York was arrested Wednesday, October 25, 2017, for leaving her young children in a car unattended.

The women left her two daughters ages 7 and 8 inside her car as she went for a job interview at LaGuardia Airport.

NY Daily News reports that officers found the two girls sitting in the back of the car at around 3 p.m.

Their mother left the air conditioning on in the car so that the girls wouldn’t get too hot.

When asked by police where their mother was, they said they didn’t know. However, they did give the name of their school where officials were able to get in contact with the mother.

Nida Joseph Delgado, the girl’s mother was sitting in a job interview in the terminal when authorities got in contact with her an hour later.

Joseph Delgado told police that her daughters were okay being alone in the car. She’s charged with two misdemeanor counts of acting in a way injurious to a child.
