You read that headline right! Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z may have turned down an offer to perform at the 2018 Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched programs on television especially the half time show.

Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and even his wife Beyoncé have all had the honor of performing at the Super Bowl.

So why would Jay-Z turn down a chance of a lifetime? It’s simple. Until the NFL puts Colin Kaepernick back in the game Jay-Z will not consider performing at the Super Bowl.

This could be the rappers way of standing in solidarity to Colin Kaepernick being black balled by the NFL.

According to The Source, during a stage performance in New York last week, Jay-Z shouted Colin Kapernick’s name during his set.

If this is true then this can be one of the biggest celebrities to come out and stands against the NFL in such a big way.

If the story is true, the point is not that they will get someone else. The larger point is that they first wanted Jay Z, and he declined to accept. He stood on principle, and I am proud of him for doing so. Good to see a celebrity with some backbone!!

specialt, what does the national anthem have to do with Super Bowl. The verses are not missing, people just are not aware of them. You do know this song is about America battling against the British?

I’m sorry you don’t get my joke, hopefully others did. Perhaps a better question is why this verse was excluded when they started using the star spangled banner as the “national anthem”.

  3. I’ve never watched a football game in my life. The one and only time I watched a half time show was when Prince was performing. It will also be my last. I consider my time to be very valuable. It would be better spent sliding naked down an icicle than watching Joe Camel hop around a stage spittin’ out rhymes.

Or they just may get Ray Lewis and Jim Brown to come in and do a black face imitation, shuckin’ and jivin’ for the massahs. And have Ben Carson and Herman Cain, oh and fake doc sing the missing verses of the National anthem:
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
