Michael Jordan is urging protesters in Charlotte to demonstrate peacefully in the wake of violence that has followed the police shooting of 43-year-old African-American man Keith Lamont Scott.

In a statement Thursday, Jordan expressed condolences to Scott’s family and to those injured in the ensuing protests.

”In light of the tragic events of the past three days, it is more important than ever that we restore calm and come together, as a community, in peaceful demonstration and conversation, and in constructive and non-violent ways,” states Jordan, an owner of the Charlotte Hornets.

The team store was looted on Wednesday during the protests.

Jordan says his NBA team is committed to working with “elected leaders and law enforcement to foster more trust, transparency and understanding so we can heal and grow together as a community.”

  1. Good!!!n he’s nothing but a.Coon put your head back in your shell and go back home to your cavebitch. If his store had not been looted you wouldn’t have heard a peep out of him.

SMFH, how does looting & burning down the community help ANYTHING in ANYWAY?!? … Such actions feed into the Fox News narrative that minorities are unstable, unthinking savages, which is why “we end up getting ourselves shot” … Keep giving them fuel for a propaganda narrative with animalistic behavior like looting & destroying everything

It’s sad that help for the community is offered after your story is looted. Don’t get me wrong it’s very frustrating to have to see black people do exactly what the government wants, but even more frustrating that all the black icons don’t want to step up and lead us when the world exploit us and negative looters. Fuck that damn store Jordan can’t pay for lives lost.
