When we heard Dwyane Wade was headed to Chicago, our mind immediately went to his ex, Siohvaughn Funches. If you recall, there was plenty of turmoil from the ex-Mrs. Dwyane Wade, including an ugly divorce and custody battle. She apparently likes to sue. And she lives in Chicago. We’ll leave it at that.
It’s now three years since Siobvaughn and Dwyane settled their divorce. Wade is now, of course, remarried to Gabrielle Union. But now the ex-wifey is pushing to have the settlement re-opened in light of Wade’s new $47 million contract with the Chicago Bulls.
Funches is also suing her former divorce lawyer, Brian Hurst, for malpractice, according to Kim Janssen of The Chicago Tribune. She claims that Hurst agreed to the $5 million-plus settlement without her knowledge. (It should be noted that Siobvaughn has gone through at least 10 lawyers in her divorce.)
On Friday, that suit was thrown out, but Funches was given the opportunity to file an amended suit, with her new lawyer saying you can count on it. Wade himself was not named as a defendant in the suit.
Wade and Funches settled their divorce in 2013 after splitting in 2007. They have two sons together who Dwyane has physical custody of.
Don’t be surprised if Wade and Gabrielle have to deal with Siohvaughn’s over-the-top histrionics again. Three years ago, she made news by presenting herself as homeless and living on the streets.
