A source is confirming to Entertainment Tonight that the rumors are true – Janet Jackson is pregnant with her first child, just days before her 50th birthday on May 16.

The singer announced last month that she was postponing her tour to start a family with husband Wissam Al Mana.

“We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” Jackson explained in a video posted to Twitter on April 6. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

“Please, if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now,” Jackson asked of her fans. “I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

  1. I want to congratulate Janet on her pregnancy. My concern is that she’ll be half a century older than that kid. Will she truly be able to enjoy this xhild childhood? By the time the child goes to college, she’ll nearly be 70yrs old!! Good Luck Janet…

And if this child is not a male–she will have to do it all again.

She is married to an Arab-they want sons-so they can pass their fortunes on to them!!!

Yeah, your right Linda… I forgot about that little tid bit, they definitely want that male heir. We as women are still seen as property in that country, NOT to be heard!

do believe she has a child, when she was with DeBarge, and her sister is raising; which means she would NEVER acknowledge that child publicly. Almost like being married for 12 years and NO acknowledgement, for fear of poor or declining sales; which means your ex CAN’T pen a book about living with Janet. Why would you if you walk away or ruin your chances of $10 million for being married to Janet?

Janet is supposed to be Americas black sweetheart, so cherish the thought she would have a child before married. We all knew that she would have to give this man an heir, you can’t marry into that rich Muslim family, and not give him an heir, along with his other 3 wives 🙂 I’m sure on doctors orders, in order to not miscarry again, you have to cancel this leg of your tour; or have a surrogate like Beyoncé, and close down an entire ward for fear of someone seeing that you DID NOT give birth, but you were at the birth of your child. Congrats to Janet, let see what happens next?

    • The talk lots of years ago was she had a baby with James DeBarge when they were married and Reebie took care of . Who knows

    • I think beyonce closed down the baby ward b/c she knew the paparazzi would be trying to snap photos. I highly doubt that she did not actually bare blue ivy. have you seen that girl looks a lot like bey and jayz. so she had a previous miscarriage. plenty of women miscarry and go on to bare other children. on her hbo special where she talked about her pregnancy they showed her pregnant. let me guess that was a stunt double.

No one is doubting that Blue Ivy is their child…it’s doubt that Beyoncé carried that pregnancy or had a surrogate. There has never been a clear picture like any other entertainer that shows her at eight or nine months pregnant w/o being photos shopped.

Thank you for that clarification Kay 🙂 I know Blue Ivy is Hovs, it’s just that you never saw snap or professional shots, of Bey during her pregnancy, and the only interview that I saw her while pregnant, she wouldn’t let anyone touch her stomach; and her stomach collapsed when she was trying to sit down? It’s on YouTube, and most disturbing. Also, most 1st time moms, are so enthusiastic, and want the world to see… If I was in her shoes, I would want all the attention cause I am Sasha Fierce, and this is my pregnancy log. All the big time celebrity moms who posed, even Mariah Carey, Kelly Rolland, with their stomachs bare, and everything else covered, and so eloquently done; so many snap shots by paparazzi, and fans, and magazines. Pregnant women are so beautiful… And yes, I know Beyoncé’ had a previous miscarriage, which means this time around, especially when I’m about to deliver… I would want the world to know. Just my thoughts and opinion 🙂 Surrogates are great carrying someone else’s child, and if you have issues from previous miscarriages, then this is the best decision you could make.
