Toni Braxton has settled her child support battle with ex-husband, Mint Condition keyboardist Keri Lewis. Braxton accused her ex of not paying child support for their 2 two sons, 11-year-old Denim and 10-year-old Diezel.

Braxton’s personal and financial problems got worse in 2010. She filed for bankruptcy twice and was also diagnosed with lupus.

The six-time Grammy winner served her ex-husband with a child support contempt lawsuit last October 31, 2014 in Georgia Court. The contempt lawsuit sought to have a court order find that Lewis had not been paying the ordered support, and to obtain an order to collect back child support.

theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports that Braxton’s bankruptcy documents reveal she is to receive 2k a month from Lewis for support for their children.

On May 10th, Braxton filed docs in the case dismissing the lawsuit voluntarily. The dismissal means that she and Keri reached a settlement outside of court. The case was closed the same day.

During her Vh1 Behind the Music special in October 2012, Braxton opened up about her failed marriage. “I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him,” she explained. “I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.”

  1. Those boys are teenagers now. A few years ago Tony filed bankruptcy and lost her fortunes including all but one of her Grammy’s to pay back her not paying taxes debts. She’s no longer a popular artist as she was, and since the show aired is her steady income/how she gets paid. All of their houses are rentals/lease agreements. All that glitter ain’t gold so once again it’s Reality TV = not real.

  2. First let me say how can you lose a woman like Toni you have to be totally out of your mind and to have two beautiful kid’s from her then don’t want to take care of them what kind of a man are you. See you are that so called man that make it bad for us real men I would give anything to have a woman like Toni your that bum called a man.

Obviously you’re lusting over Toni’s celebrity image and your fantasies, you do not not a person until you live with them, however, her children are entitled to child support ($ and emotionally) from their dad regardless of what caused the break up!

  3. Live within your means is an old adage and is true to this day. Trust that the kids would be better off not being spoiled! Is this really “child support??” hmmmmm.

People should pay their child support whether male or female. In this case the father should pay child support. They have been divorced about five years and he has been a deadbeat dad. Our children deserve to be connected emotionally, mentally, physically and YES financially to both parents. The children deserve it!!!!

Woohoo! She can go buy a car now! There are no laws concerning child support must be spent on the children. If u think your fighting for the children, you are uneducated.
SUPPORT IS ALIMONY in DISGIUSE. most people just don’t know that.

Why isn’t she paying HIM for child support? Obviously she made a lot more money than he did. Bankruptcy is an excuse. Why is it women only want to be equal to men when it doesn’t involve money? Halle Barry? Same deal. Mad because she had to support her non working husband.

Yes, ladies… welcome to the real world. You’ve been doing it to men for 100 years. Reap what you sew.

Um… that’s why you have to marry a WOMAN not one who thinks shes enititled to a baby check. Checkmate…Christi

  8. Back in the day before child support laws children were taken care of by family if the parents were not able to provide for them. Both of these parents are able to provide for their children. They should have worked something out privately.

It’s “their” father… not “there.” And stop using all caps when you’re making a fool of yourself. Quit acting like a woman that got dumped for someone better. Why is HE being a deadbeat dad? If she made more money, which we all know she did, she should be paying HIM. Bankruptcy is an excuse… doesn’t excuse her from being financially responsible. Lupus, you say? Lots of people have it and still go to work. If HE was the big grammy winner, you can bet she’d be coming after him for money. That’s what women do. Like men OWE you a lifestyle, right?

      • Marie on said:

I must be missing something because it’s not the point of how much money she is making but more so who has the kids most if not all the time.
The other parent has a responsibility also. I believe, though I may be wrong but doesn’t Toni have the kids most if not all the time?
So you’re saying he should be able to get away with not being there physically as well as monetarily?
