”Django Unchained” actress Daniele Watts and her boyfriend Brian Lucas pleaded not guilty on misdemeanor lewd conduct charges, according to Page Six.
The couple was charged back in October for a very public “make-out” session. LAPD investigated the alleged lewd conduct that took place in a parked Mercedes the previous month.
Following the incident Watts claimed she was the victim of racial profiling. She said she and her boyfriend were only kissing in their car.
But witnesses said there was a lot more going on than that. She was accused of being a prostitute and someone called the cops due to the public indecency.
Nevertheless, police said they follow the proper protocol for the incident, and their actions weren’t based on any racial profiling.
Attorney Lou Shapiro entered the pleas in court on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, but neither Watts or Lucas appeared in court. Their case will be called again on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.
