Critics came for Elise Neal and her co-stars after last Wednesday’s premiere of “Hollywood Divas” — calling her irrelevant.

But Neal spoke with Sister 2 Sister and told the magazine she’s been in the entertainment industry for 25 years — working the entire time.

“I’m very proud of the work I’ve been able to accomplish in my 25-odd-year career,” she said. “I’ve been in No. 1 movies at the box office; I’ve been on seven television shows.”

Some of her hit movies are “Scream 2” and “Hustle & Flow.” She’s also starred on numerous TV shows — including “The Hughleys” and “All of Us.”

“There has not been one year that I have not been on a television show in the last 10 years,” she said. “That doesn’t mean I’m not working. That just means you’re not watching.”

As for being a new reality star, she sees the reality TV platform as a way for her fans (and critics) to see her career not only as an actress, but her real life as well.

“The whole point of doing the show, when you’re not a reality star, is to allow people to catch up with what you’ve been doing and allow people to understand your real life better,” she said.

  1. She’s beautiful and talented and shouldn’t have to validate herself for anyone. I’m sure the people who are saying she’s irrelevant have nothing going for themselves.

I just didn’t like the way she was talking to the other lady like her career is all that. If you’re great, you don’t have to put other people down in order to prove it.
