The larger you twist your hair, the less defined the twists will be once you untie them and also leads to reversion. Try making smaller twists in your hair and wearing them for a 3-5 days before you untie them. This guarantees a well-defined and long-lasting style.

5. No borrowing

At some point while twisting you get to a point where one side of the twist has no more hair to twist. Instead of trying to borrow hair from the other side, just end the twist and coil the ends. This prevents the often disastrous, frizzy mess of trying to untie them.

6. Don’t over separate

Separate each twist into two sections, if possible, or up to four sections at the maximum.  Any further separation can contribute to frizz and shorter wear of the style.
