A Fort Stewart soldier went to “extreme” lengths to teach his teenage daughter a lesson.

The man, who did not want to be identified, was fed up with his daughter’s messy room so he moved everything out of her bedroom and put it in the family’s driveway while she was at school Monday.

WSAV reports:

“Accompanying her belongings was a sign that read, “Haley, room moved to driveway. Clean it next time.”

The home is located on Mustang Lane in the Horse Creek subdivision of Ludowici and the father describes his daughter as an honor roll student.

He says he had warned her he didn’t want to treat her like a soldier but when she wouldn’t listen he decided to send her a message.

The father told us that his daughter was initially upset and said that the move was “extreme.”

But it worked out for both in the end.

The father says they have hired a painter to come in tomorrow and give Haley’s bedroom a fresh coat of paint in hopes that she will keep it cleaner from now on.

An extremely good parent!!! Mind you, we as parents, sometimes are really the ones to blame because we want or would like to give our kids the best along with the best opportunities; sometimes those that we did not have when we were growing up. However, our kids will sometimes take serious advantage of whatever the situation may be good or bad and either capitalize on what appears to be a great thing initially……or turn it around and use It against us as well This child, honor roll student or not, needs to know that there are lessons to be learned in life and if they don’t get it or choose not to get it, then they are truly going to have it hard in life!!!!! I hope she saw or understood the love in the message.

  2. Definitely good parent!! Sometimes parents have to go to the extreme to get our kids to “see the light” (pun intended) She’ll be getting plenty of sunshine out in the driveway. LOL But seriously, now she knows that her father means business. When all you do it talk, teens don’t take you seriously, but with the actions he implemented, I’ll bet she’ll keep her room in a decent condition.
