Ankle weights assist in toning up the legs and getting the heart rate up with every step you take. If your career involves a lot of walking back and forth, place a light to medium weight around your ankles and make sure you take full strides while keeping your back straight to practice using proper posture.

Take the stairs.

Taking the stairs to floors in your building that aren’t too high up provides a cardio workout to help get the heart pumping and the blood flowing into the body.  As you use the stairs, make sure to engage every muscle in the legs. For an extra workout, take the stairs two at a time!

Use public transportation when possible.

Using the bus or the train when possible will encourage the use of the greatest vehicle there is: your own two feet! Walking from one destination to another will give you a reason to get your legs and feet moving to become a healthier you. Not to mention, walking at a quickened pace helps keep the heart healthy.
