When high school senior Marshon Sanders first showed up to school in a Jesus costume, he was kicked out of class and sent to the Dean’s office. However, after Sanders’ mother, Angenetta Friso, contacted the media with her son’s story; the school has had a change of tune.
The school released a statement on their decision to ABC News, it reads:
“We initially were concerned that the costume could be offensive to religious sensibilities. Upon further review, we realized the student did not intend to be offensive. Therefore, the school communicated to the student that he could wear the costume.”
Sanders attends Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois.
Do you think Sanders deserved to be reprimanded in the first place?
