Dirt is getting thrown at Josh Brent in the midst of his unfortunate drunk driving incident that lead to the death of his best friend

A witness to the fatal car crash says Brent wasn’t a good friend because he left his dying teammate, Jerry Brown, in the car and didn’t even attempt to help, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Supposedly, Brown didn’t get Brent’s care until after a series of begging and pleading.

Brown was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Brent is being charged with intoxication manslaughter.

“Jerry was alive. He was hurt. He was calling out and his own friend walked away,” the witness said. Brent’s attorney, George Milner, says the witness is wrong:

“That is absolutely false,” he said. “That’s not even consistent with what the police said when they came up on the scene. What I’ve been told is that Jerry Brown was never conscious after the accident. She’s a nut and she better be careful with this one.”

The witness says she was driving home from her birthday party when she saw the whole thing. She stopped to check on Brent and thought it was only the driver in the wreck. But as the fire from the crash grew, she began to hear screams from the debris.

The witness says Brent may have been in shock, but she was surprised he didn’t try to help.
