Remember a few years back when Beyonce dropped her double-disc album with her alter ego "Sasha Fierce." Well since then stars including Nicki Minaj and Brandy have discussed "their other side" openly and now Musiq Soulchild has done the same.

The soul singer-turned-love author announced via his Facebook that he has an alter ego named "Purple."

According to the star "Purple" "is a folk/soul singer songwriter, something like a cross between Bob Marley and Sade, who sings about peace and love!!!"

Soulchild is currently on a book tour for his relationship book, "143 Love According to Musiq" and says he hopes to one day go on a worldwide tour as his alter ego, "Purple."

The prolific songwriter boasts hits like "Don't Change", "Love", and more on his resume, hopefully, his alter ego can keep up with the "primary" ego's talents.
