For music lovers, the “Nati” is the place to be this weekend. Eddie Levert and the O’Jays are among the legendary musical performers heading down to The Queen City to perform at the city’s 50th annual music festival this weekend.
Once called the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival, for the last eight years, it’s now the Macy’s Music Festival. It’s held at the Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cleveland. Shows on Friday and Saturday night start at 7:30 p.m. with different lineups each night. Our own Tom Joyner will participate in both shows.
This year, the performers will pay tribute to some of the outstanding performers who’ve graced the festival stage in the last 50 years including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige and Duke Ellington. The Macy’s at Fountain Square will feature a meet and greet with KEM and Ledisi on Friday. KEM will appear from 2-3 p.m. Ledisi will be there from 4-5 p.m.
