We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. Life tends to get away from us all. We get busy or things aren’t going the way we think they should. But instead of pressing the pause button or focusing all of the things that are going right in our lives, we complain, we overlook, we forget.

With your help over the Thanksgiving holiday, below is a list of of 50-plus things we are thankful for, both big and small.

Warren Ridings – I have a roof over my head family, income, Jesus.

Mahei Foliaki – Family, friends, life.

Serene Bridgett – My father passed away two years ago; however, I am so grateful to have spent 45 years knowing the most awesome man on the planet. God is so good. He gave me such a wonderful father who loved me and shared the love of Jesus with me. #Grateful

Sharon Delaney – I am thankful that I am cancer free, for my family and friends, that I have a roof over my head and food on the table.

Mending Healing – Having spent the time I had with my sons and parents, missing them … R.I.P family!

Erica Gilbert – I am grateful that all my needs are met, even if I couldnt do it alone, food, shelter and clothing.

Ali Joseph – I am thankful for being alive!

Yanni Brown – I’m thankful for my health, sanity and a roof over my head. I’m truly thankful for a better relationship with God. I’m thankful for my beautiful girls and our relationship, and I’m also thankful for an amazing journey in this thing called life. So much to be thankful for. Thank you for you, and all that you do for others that people don’t know about!

Mark A. Woods – Thankful to just be alive!

Charles Callier – I am thinkful for my family, health, and the love of God.

Richard RealTalk Polk – That’s RealTalk, Nikki. We sometimes get so caught up in life that we forget to live and be thankful for the blessings we are given each and every day.

Je’Niece McCullough – I am thankful for the 30 years of life, time, love and other gifts that I was able to share with my dad. I am thankful that he was able to meet and spend time with his only granddaughter before he passed away. I am thankful for the the gift of clarity that has allowed me to see who really loves & supports me. I am thankful for my daughter and each day that I spend with her. I am thankful that I have come as far on my life’s journey as I have.

Donald P. McCary – Everything.

Pamela D. Rice – I am thankful for my family and peace in my home.

Tina L. Spears – I am thankful for having a purpose in life and for the health and strength to pursue it at all costs.

Charlotte Wright-Bruce – Thankful for my husband! After two years of me being unemployed, attending school (again) for a total career change, and all other problems presented, my household has been able to withstand it all.

Marla Arrington – God, my family and health.

Terri Moore – I am thankful for life. I almost gave up, but what brought me back was seeing my three wonderful boys’ smiles. Life is hard, better yet, life is what you make it. I appreciate God’s gift.

Sharmane Bundel – I am thankful for life, my family and great health and happness and a job to go to everyday. I give Him all the glory!

Tee Freeman – I’m most thankful for the people who stand outside in the cold and collect for Salvation Army in the cold and rain. I’m grateful for all those who get up early to work in the stores in the wee hours in the morning for Black Friday and the rest of the holiday season.

Rasta Rico Washington – To see the yellow sun shining down on the black ground that brings forth green vegetation that nourishes us on Gods earth. Jah Bless!

MaRisa Black – God for loving me, my son, brothers, my life, my career and my patients, who make the stress and responsibilities all well worth it!

Phyllis Grady – God. Life. I died Oct. 20th.

Antonette Nash – Life, health, healing, family, good friends, my job.

Brian Keith Arsenault – I am thankful for my family and friends, my health, having a roof over my head and food in the fridge. My God and his unconditional protection and grace. The ability to share what little I have with others that have less than I. I am thankful for my oldest son. I am thankful for the memories of my boys when they were little, and even though My youngest is gone. I still have the memories.

Mitzi Duncan – I am thankful for the challenges I have had in my life. They have made me a better person and thankful to have God in my life for teaching me how to follow!

Mekia Brewer – Thankful for my family, my kids that are healthy, kids that are respectful and understand what it means for me to be a single parent, my health, my job, my coworkers/colleagues … Just thankful to be alive!

Hershey Hershey Hershey – I am thankful for the optimism givin to me, in spite of all the misthoughts that have tried to block my path.

Pamela Sharkey Flowers – First of all, I’m thankful for just being here able to answer your question. Life is not promised to us daily. I just like to say I have my own mind I’m thankful for; every day, God uses me to do good, My health and my husband, my family and friends.

Shaun Smooth Smith – Life and purpose!

Morris Michael – Peace of mind.

Esther Jackson-Lyles – I am thankful for life, sanity, a home to live in, food to nourish my body and God teaching me to have faith and patience. I give God all the glory.

Greg Bowie – The fact that I’m working a lot, and doing what I enjoy doing, which is play music.

Barbie Whoos – I’m thankful for having another day to share with my family.

Chris Burke – Where do I begin? I’m thinking I have to say I owe everything to God ’cause he gives us life.

Tamel Jacobs – I am thankful for my family and for common sense!

Carey Cox – I am thankful for everything that’s going on in my life right now. The positive things let me know I’m doing some things right in my life, and the negative things in my life let me know I have some things to make right. Glory to God.

Barry Ivan White – Beautiful black ladies like you … and my mother, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, ex-wives and future ex-wives. Happy Thanksgiving. It just wouldn’t be the same with out you all. Blessings!

Linda Washington – Air, health, family, friends, shelter, Joe Soto – I am thankful for my leopard skin underwear. It’s quite stylish.

Lem Williams – For family and friends.

Patty Van De Putte – The ocean, the birds, trees, flowers, clouds in the sky … all the little things that have absolutely nothing to do with me. These things are my reminders that there is something much larger at work in the universe. For that, I am grateful!

Scott G. Brown – I am thankful for life, wisdom and grace.

Winzel Bert Jr. – Upon the very existence of a healthy life, I’m thankful for God-given wisdom that this life has taught me. For without the competence of wisdom, nothing would make sense.

Margaret Peterkin – My new job!

Diane Bonney – God’s grace and mercy. I’m breathing. Yippee!

Katina Clinton – I’m thankful for God’s mercy and grace, life, family and friends.

Tamishia Newell – I’m thankful for shelter, food and clothes, basics that you don’t even think about, but could be gone in the blink of an eye.

Donna So Uniquely Made – I am grateful and thankful for my father above for allowing the people who have entered my life thus far, whether it was a season or a life time … Thank you for the life experiences!

Bernice Swinton – I am alive! Got all my senses, can see, hear, and speak. Got a roof over my head, clothes on my back; my children are all healthy and so are my grandchildren. I’m thankful that God keeps blessing me. I can go on and on and on …

Matthew Allen – Family.

ArmyNavylady Chillwill – I’m thankful for my health, being alive despite the challenges, being strong enough to look out for myself first for once, my income, my expectations, my defeats which have conditioned me to be the person that I am, and most of all, I’m thankful for my best friend because He has never let me down and has always had my back. “Footprints” is my life’s foundation.

Matt Archie – Family and still being vertical.

Marcie Barrett – I am so thankful my son, who loves playing base drums since four years old, was nowhere near the FAMU drum major during his untimely demise. Thank you, dear God, that he was on leave. Dear God, please bless Robert (Champion)’s family and save his soul. When our children go off to College to receive higher education, we shouldn’t have to worry that we will never see them again. My heart goes out to Robert’s family.

Epiphanie ArtisLife Malloy – I’ve been in the hospital for the past three weeks after a four-week admission last month, including my birthday. I’m 24 and I have sickle cell, and I’ve suffered back-to-back crises and infections. I’m thankful for my family and friends, especially my mother, father and sister who always stay by my side when I’m at my lowest. Whether it’s calling me every day on the phone or coming to eat dinner with me via hospital food with me. I’m home now for the holidays because of their constant prayers, laughter and encouragement. That’s what I’m thankful for.

Natasha Ferguson – I’m thankful to be blessed in more ways than I can list and even more thankful that I can be a blessing to help others be blessed.

Laura Rodriguez – My child, most of all.

Gregory Green – The blessing of my kids. God blessed me.

Bessie Spencer – I’m thankful God hasn’t given me what I truly deserve; instead, he’s given me new mercies every day. When my I was stuck up at gun point, he covered me. When I had a health scare, he sent his healing blood. When I was out of work with no income, not even unemployment, he paid my mortgage, and other bills, on time. When I thought about killing myself after a bad relationship, he said, “No, my child.” I’m thankful for family and friends that love and care about me and each other. I’m thankful for each day He gives me the chance to serve him. God, I’m truly thankful, and I give you all honor and all the glory!

Sandy Bural – My life and my family, the world.

Bob Newsome – This year, I’m thankful for forgiveness and the ability to forgive myself and others!

Sharon Greene-Crite – Family, friends, our needs being met, and the essence of life itself and this wonderful journey!

Ajike Yemi Afolabi – When I open my eyes in the morning, I give thanks for a new day. For each new day brings promises of new hope. When verses and lines run through fingers, I give thanks for the gift of creativity. When I’m hurt by those I love, I give thanks for being able to love. Oh! I tell a lie, I should’ve said that I stop to ask why I feel the pain so much when I’m hurt by those I love. And Nikki Woods, when I read some of your postings, I give thanks for you, for me, for others who share.

Aint NoMo Butter Cakes – Thankful to be alive and free … Hopefully. we’ve shed our tribulations.
