Model Naomi Campbell says fashion magazine Vogue needs an Africa Edition.

Africa News reports that while walking the runway at Arise Fashion Week in Lagos, Nigeria Campbell said the fashion publication should do more to represent the continent.

In an interview with Reuters she explains, “Africa has never had the opportunity to be out there and their fabrics and their materials and their designs be accepted on the global platform … it shouldn’t be that way.”

There’s an even bigger push for the magazine to put roots in Africa as they launched Vogue Arabia last year. Over the years Vogue has received backlash for not having a diverse and broader reach with its magazine.

“People have come to realize it is not about the color of your skin to define if you can do the job or not,” explained Campbell. The company has made moves to show diversity after hiring Edward Enninful, a Ghanaian born fashion stylist, and editor, as their editor-in-chief in April 2017.
