BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore’s police commissioner is criticizing the decision of three officers charged but not convicted in the death of Freddie Gray to attend a conservative group’s gala where they were honored for their service.

WBAL-TV reports Commissioner Kevin Davis said Wednesday he doesn’t condone their appearance at the Media Research Center’s annual gala Sept. 22. He wants to examine whether department policy is stringent enough to bar that kind of off-duty activity.

Lt. Brian Rice and officers Edward Nero and Garrett Miller walked onstage to loud applause at the group’s annual awards gala in Washington. Officers Caesar Goodson and William Porter, and Sgt. Alicia White do not appear in the video.

Prosecutors dropped all charges after three officers were acquitted and another’s trial ended in a hung jury.

Gray, a young black man, died a week after his neck was broken as he rode in the back of a police van, handcuffed and shackled but not seat-belted in.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The conservative Media Research Center has honored the Baltimore police officers who were charged but not convicted in the 2015 death of a young black man whose fatal neck injury in the back of a police van touched off riots in the city.

Lt. Brian Rice and officers Edward Nero and Garrett Miller walked onstage to loud applause at the group’s annual awards gala last Thursday in Washington. Officers Caesar Goodson and William Porter, and Sgt. Alicia White do not appear in the video.

Presenter Deneen Borelli said no one else had thanked them for their service.

Miller asked the group for love and prayers.

Bishop Freddie Gray didn’t have the complexion for the protection, lets just call it was it is. His life never mattered, no matter what he was or was not. These black folks in this comment section like to blame black folks for racism in this country as if somehow it’s their fault for being born black in a country that never like them to begin with. It’s obvious they’ve never been on the other side of it…YET. But I imagine even if they had they wouldn’t admit it. Somehow they would convince themselves it was something they did to deserve it.
They love to come at Linda “L” (and yall know that’s Linda) because she makes it so easy, she hates white folks, but especially white PIGS and she won’t back down no matter how hard they try to convince her that black people are evil and white people are gods and goddess who used us to build this country. And when slavery ended they had no more use of us. Now it’s “if you don’t like it you can go back to your own country”. Well this is our country, a country where we are not treated equally, even though our constitution gave us to the right to be. You know that part in there where they slipped up and wrote “We the people…? Well let it be known blacks are people too and we have the same rights as others. Somebody needs to tell these racists that.
I just wonder how many white parents have to remind their white children daily to just do what the officers say do and you get to live another day. Pretty sure it fails in comparison to the millions of black parents who have to continually tell their black children to do what the officers say or they WILL KILL you.
The petty crimes being committed do not warrant a death sentence, jail time, perhaps, a fine, certainly, but murder, absolutely NOT! A police officer’s job consists of many things, one is to de-escalate and another, make arrests, not be the judge, jury and prosecutor, and most definitely not the executioner. If you are a racist or even a black cop who hates blacks (or himself for being black), you cannot serve and protect the citizens, sorry my bad, the black citizens of this country, please find another job.

    • Freddie Gray threw himself about in the police wagon and caused his own injuries. He had a history of this behavior. It was confirmed by the other black “passenger”. I know he changed his tune when the neighborhood reminded him of the street law of no snitchin’ and fock the po-po. This was proved out in court. I know the facts don’t match your race card play, but they are what they are.

  2. I find it very interesting how many can find so many reasons to justify Mr. Gray’s death by calling him a criminal, a thug, a drug dealer/user but do not hold the same standards for many others life themselves.

Mr. Gray did not deserve the treatment he received which caused his death. Carrying a switchblade in your pocket should not be a death sentence. Remember, at the time of his arrest he was not dealing or using drugs. He was not in the act of robbery or assault. He was not jaywalking.

But let’s assume his past life justified his death. Why do you not hold others to that same standard? Ted Nugent, faked his way out of the draft. He raped a 12 year old girl, wrote a song about raping a 13 year old girl named ‘Jailbait’ and adopted a 17 year old girl so he could have sex with her. With all of that, he made millions as an entertainer, he’s adored by many conservatives and sits on the Board of the NRA. Ted Nugent not a good enough example for you? What about Donald Trump? Did you know that he has a pending rape charge for the rape of a 13 year old from 1994?

Okay, child sex crimes isn’t your thing. What about actor Tim Allen? He’s a convicted drug dealer who served time. He only served 28 months because he rolled over on all the drug dealers he knew. Mark Wahlberg nearly beat a man to death after trying to steal alcohol from the man’s store. While beating the man and his friend, he yelled racial slurs at the two Vietnamese men. He was arrested, charged with attempted murder and servred 45 days.

I can go on and on adding Roman Polanski, Steven Collins, Charlie Sheen and many others but I think you get the point.

The lives of Ted Nugent and Tim Allen matter but some how the life of Freddie Gray does not in your opinion.

Granted, opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one but if you cannot hold the same value of life for Gray as you do for others who have committed past crimes, you are just a hypocrite who suffers from cognitive dissonance.

Lets start at this point first! Who’s decision was it to sell drugs? Who’s decision was it to run from the cops? Who’s decision was it to resist arrest? Surely not the cops, secondly these thugs are always tough and then start faking they need help happens all the time its nothing but a ploy to later say the police beat me up to beat the charges. This wasn’t his first time in trouble with the police. When will you all hold these so called victims responsible for their own actions. If Mr. Gray had broke into your house and you called the police and then ran and this happened how would you feel then? You all anti cops are hypocrites, next time a black man causes harm to you or your friends or family please dont call the cops let them live to do it again.

  4. First and foremost it’s totally disrespectful. Police Officer is suppose to serve and protect. Let examine that….They all knew he was injured and hurting. Why not call fire rescue. They all know who ever took on him to custody should of put on his seat belt since he was unable to do so..They will ticket you for not wearing a seatbelt. If they all can look on the mirror everyday and truly feel they did not go wrong. I will say we struggle not against flesh and blood but against rulers, against the authorities, power of this dark world that includes them. The Lord said Vengeance is minds. You didn’t give him life and you have not right to take someone’s,LIFE out of you scope of duty. I truly feel for All of them really don’t understand the magnitude of their actions. Read Colossians 3:23-25.

  5. OH No No No not so fast Mr. Double Standard they were cleared of charges just like OJ or any black man accused of a crime and acquitted

  6. These “Conservatives” must be some of Chump’s Klan!!!!!!!!

Who else in their right minds would support of group of Pigs who beat an innocent man to death,
denied him medical assistance, then placed him in the paddywagon like nothing ever happened.

Karma is a b. Hope all the PIGS who are doing WRONG get what is coming to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
