Young Dro was ready to get his “Shoulder Lean” on for the Statesboro Summer Jam at Georgia Southern University on Saturday, but cops swooped in and arrested him before he could take the stage.

The 37-year-old rapper, born D’Juan Montreal Hart, was set to perform Sunday at the Performing Arts Center on campus when he was arrested outside the venue and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a weapon in a school safety zone and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to The Statesboro Herald.

He’s currently being held at Bulloch County Jail.

Via The Statesboro Herald:

When Hart and his group showed up to the PAC on Saturday night, a GSU police officer said he smelled a “strong odor of marijuana on the entourage” and decided to inspect their vehicle for visible drugs or violations, according to GSU police incident and arrest reports.

The officer said he saw a handgun in a holster within plain view in the white Chevrolet Tahoe in which the group arrived, and he called for assistance and had Hart, 37, brought out of the PAC to the vehicle.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a bag of marijuana, a marijuana blunt (a cigar filled with marijuana) and a bottle of promethazine syrup, reports stated. Also, a wooden cylinder containing marijuana was found in a book bag, and a pink pill that was determined to be amphetamine and dextroamphetamine was discovered in an Altoids mints container, according to reports.

No one in the group claimed ownership of the gun, reports stated. None held a license to carry a firearm.
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office says three others were arrested on drug charges. All three were taken to the Bulloch County Jail and are being held without bond as they await further court hearings.

Dro’s rap sheet includes an arrest earlier this year at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after Clayton County police found him in possession of a pill and a half of Xanax. Hart was also arrested in 2015 on felony theft charges.

Last year Dro released his album “Da Reality Show,” through T.I.’s label Grand Hustle Records.
