Cam Newton is known for his off-the-field philanthropic endeavors, but who knew that his charitable contributions would one day include Oprah Winfrey’s boyfriend.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback ended up giving Stedman Graham a pair of his shoes while Winfrey was in town to deliver the commencement speech at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte – because Graham realized that he packed only one shoe.
He wears a size 15, which apparently is not the kind of size one finds on quick notice during a weekend in Charlotte. According to the Charlotte Observer reporter covering the commencement speech, Oprah’s first move was to roam the bar at The Ritz-Carlton asking strangers their shoe size.
When that didn’t work, she got desperate at about 12:30 a.m. and called Newton, who wears a size 14.
“[Stedman] managed to get his heel in Cam’s shoe,” Winfrey reportedly told the JCSU crowd. “So he is standing in Cam Newton’s shoes this morning.”
