Bernie Mac’s death in 2008 was a shock to the comedy and entertainment world alike. Now, for the first time, his widow is speaking out about the final moments of his life.
Rhonda McCullough, Bernie’s high school sweetheart, expressed the residual pain of his death in a new TV interview on Oprah’s Where Are They Now?
“My whole life was him, since I was 16,” McCullough said. “I didn’t know what I was gonna do. It’s like, what is my reasoning for being here now? What is my purpose? How am I going to make it now?”
She explained the two married young and encountered many financial difficulties together…but Bernie always told her they would be rich. Sounds like a Cinderella story.
