In between sending messy tweets about the TGT breakup, Tyrese was also dealing with his mother’s illness. After revealing that she was in critical condition and on a ventilator at an L.A. hospital last week, Tyrese Gibson is now updating is fans with some wonderful news. His mom’s health has taken a turn for the better, which he credits to the “power and loving presence of God.”

Gibson took to Instagram to share the update, writing:

I have the best news ever to share… I’ve witnessed the power and loving presence of GOD!!!! My Mother is no longer in critical condition…….. Glory be thy name the lord Jesus Christ is real….. I’ve literally witnessed a miracle…… We appreciate your prayers and outpouring of LOVE!!!!!!

He continues:

I’ve never had a doubt in my heart that God was real…… But it can ONLY be the power of the lord Jesus Christ that pulled her through…….. They took the tubes out, took her off of the the breathing machines and today for the first time in 8 days me and my mother TALKED….. Her first words were “Hi Son”….

The nominations for the 2016 Grammy Awards were recently announced and Tyrese scored two for his single “Shame,” – best R&B song and best traditional R&B performance. Gibson says he intends to take his mother to the awards ceremony in February, “My mother… will be my date to the GRAMMYs – to God be ALL the glory…”

The Grammys will take place once again at The Staples Center in L.A. on Feb. 15, 2016, and will be broadcast live on CBS with LL as host.

Meanwhile, Tyrese and hip-hop legend Rev Run will premiere their OWN primetime series It’s Not You, It’s Men on Jan. 23. The two co-hosts will discuss their differing perspectives on relationships and marriage in front of a studio audience. As Billboard reports, among the guests slated for the talk show’s eight hour-long episodes are Vin Diesel, Jordin Sparks and Marlon Wayans.
