Marcus Scribner is best known for his role as the oldest son, Andre Johnson, Jr. on the hit ABC show black-ish.

He talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about playing the role of Dre Jr. and beating out Anthony Anderson’s real-life son, Nate, to play his television son.

“I’m still humbled and blessed. Nate is a really cool guy. I’m sure he could’ve played the part just as well.”

Scribner is now gearing up for his new role in The Good Dinosaur.  The story takes you on a journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.

“I play Buck, the older brother of the main character. I think a lot of the older siblings out there could relate to my character.”

The Good Dinosaur hit theaters November 25th. Watch the trailer below:
