Horoscopes for the week of June 8th
Last week was a curious week that left me emotional, withdrawn, and in total suspense of one too many things. Of course, I blame the planets – specifically that Sagittarius Full Moon we had on Tuesday, and a retrograding Mercury. But no matter the cosmic influences, this was my reality for a few days and it sucked. I did my best to tap in to what felt like a dried up well of inner strength, all the while keeping an eye out for the replenishment soon to arrive, courtesy of shifting planetary alignments. My faith, along with the kindness of strangers, strangely enough, got me through the storm. I made myself wake each morning with gratitude.
One thing that stays with me as I navigate my own spiritual journey is that turning back is never really an option. You can’t un-see certain insights. You can’t un-know what is true. You can’t un-do your progress. You can’t un-be enlightened. Eventually, you have to get comfortable with the road less traveled in order to reach a new state of living and being, protecting yourself from the bullshit of the muggle world. Ignorance is no longer blissful. Self-delusion becomes impossible. You have to accept things as they are no matter how crappy things seem, and still rise above it all. This is how you build spiritual muscle, and it is not easy to apply the soulful wisdom cultivated along the way to your every day life. At times, you often feel desperate for someone, anyone, to hold your hand.
The elements Air and Fire dominate the sky this week. This is a potent blend of energy that can be interpreted as thoughts and ideas made manifest. Whatever has been put on hold can now move forward thanks to Mercury’s direct station on Thursday, June 11th (give the planet about a week to gain traction). Furthermore, Venus, the planet of love and beauty currently positioned in the gregariously passionate sign of Leo, will ensure that our efforts be executed with flare. Life will pick up speed. Only this time with a venturesome spirit encouraging us to go deeper into the rabbit hole, tune in heart, optimism in hand. Excitement is already building for the curious unknown (said the Leo with the Cheshire grin).
FYI, Venus will remain in the sign of the Lion through October as a result of its upcoming retrograde set to begin in late July. All that we value in love, romance, and creativity will be up for review, and the authenticity of what makes us spiritual beings will be challenged. I’ll write more about this soon.
