Gladys Knight is one of the most beloved artists in the world and is equally capable of singing R&B, pop, gospel, and probably just about any other musical genre you can name.

This weekend, she’s headlining the 16th annual Super Bowl Gospel celebration on Friday, January 30th.

“I’m excited. I’ve never done this before,” Knight says. They will be honoring the late Andrae Crouch during her performance, which will include the all-male NFL choir.

She is also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel album for  “Where My Heart Belongs.”

“I’m always surprised at those kinds of things,” Knight says. “You just do it and you don’t know what’s going to happen once it gets out there.”

You’d be surprised that Knight is super critical of her own work. She just appeared on Empire but says she second-guesses herself after every appearance.

“I pray for other opportunities to do better,” Knight says.
