Horoscopes for the week of December 8th
If everyone else is hanging in there, then surely, I can too.
The planets Uranus (rebellion) and Pluto (transformational change) are currently in a tight 90 degree angle above. Because these two planets are farthest from the Sun, the effects they stir impact societies at a gradual pace that can last for years. In fact, Uranus and Pluto have been sitting 90 degrees apart since 2011, having made thus far 5 (soon to be 6) exact square angles. The first exact square gave rise to the Arab Spring in the Middle East. The 6th exact square will occur next Monday, December 15th; I don’t doubt that you can feel some tension. If you’ve been watching the news and uttering phrases like “the world is on fire” or “what’s wrong with people today,” then you are totally attuned, right where you need to be, and on the verge of a liberating breakthrough.
Uranus is in fire sign Aries, a sign known for its fresh spark and initiative. Pluto, meanwhile, is positioned in the earth sign of Capricorn, a sign known for its structure and authority. When these two planets but heads as they are right now (and as they did during the late 1960s), it begs the need for adjustments. Structure and authority are necessary, but not at the expense of freedom. Innovation and novelty are equally needed, but not at the expense of what sustains us. We’re being charged with finding common ground on both national and global scales, and even in our own personal astrology (just give me your full date, place, and time of birth, and I’ll tell you exactly where you’re struggling to break free and exactly where you continue to face resistance). The trick to mastering this two-step is not to overthrow the status quo, nor maintain a firm grip. The trick is to release yourself, from an inner belief, an inner authority, or an inner fear that’s been cultivated over time and has left you feeling oppressed. Doing so is what will allow your spirit to shift and evolve regardless of societal upheaval. Doing so is what will inspire others to follow suit.

In the process, we are affirmed, grabbing at new clarity. But oftentimes, there is still some level of uncertainty as to what happens next.
