A police officer in Ferguson, MO has been “suspended indefinitely” after he threatened peaceful protestors by pointing his gun at them.

A statement released by the St. Ann, MO Police Department, details circumstances surrounding the suspension of the officer, who Police Chief Aaron Jimenez confirmed was Lieutenant Ray Albers, the Huffington Post reports. (Scroll down to see statement.) In addition, the department acknowledged that Albers’ actions were “inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily, to keep the peace.”

The department’s statement comes days after Albers was captured in videos shot by protestors Tuesday night as he pointed a rifle at them.

“Gun raised, gun raised and pointed,” a protestor shouts out, alerting others as Albers approaches closer.

“My hands are up,” another protestor said.

“I will f**king kill you, get back!” Albers shouted as another protestor asked for the officer to identify himself.

“What’s your name, sir?” the protestor asks.

“Go f**k yourself,” replied Albers.

The following is the St. Ann Police Department’s statement in its entirety:

On Tuesday, August 19, 2014, shortly before midnight, an incident occurred wherein a St. Ann Police Officer pointed a semi automatic assault rifle at a peaceful protestor after a verbal exchange. It was at this time a St. Louis County Police Sergeant walked over and immediately took action, forcing the officer to lower the weapon, and escorting him away from the area. The unified command strongly feel these actions are inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily, to keep the peace. The St. Ann Police Officer involved in the incident has been relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely. For any further regarding the status of the officer, or any following internal investigation, questions need to be directed to the St. Ann Police Department. “

  1. The sad thing is even though he’s on suspension it’s probably with pay. And, even if he is eventually fired….he will probably still get his pension (depending on how long he’s been on the force). The union makes sure cops are taken care of. So in the end there may not even be consequences.

Lord, please help us. I know it’s scary out there and tension and emotions are flying high but man, this is what you’ve trained for and this is how you handle a stressful encounter? – just think if he had been on a street corner with just himself and two, three brothers – they would be DEAD!!! He shouldn’t be suspended, he should be fired maybe even arrested for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. You can’t change a man’s heart but you can send a direct message by way of consequences as to what he can and can not do

  4. If the story has happenedin this way, that’s mean it is the right moment for civilians, to ask ‘’what isgoing on by now in America’’? In 2014, is just because some guys in uniform belongto whatever instance would be allowed to step on human dignity like this?According to the new details, the homicide of the officer Wilson and of coursethe wrong behavior of his squad toward the population apparently isn’t only aracial mishandling mime-drama it’s above all a Human Concern to correctstrictly nowadays. As a free speaking bystander, it seems this kind ofuniformed guys deserve to be sent to fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq, not in theUS territories. Wake up America! ———— Justice is not anexpression of encouragement; it’s more a mental dehydration becomes legallycommencing the undeniable or imperative necessities in the approach ofMississippi or Ferguson expanses. Eligible for any society especially thatwhich is lacking such as Missouri, from yesteryear to the momentum… http://www.artnook.weebly.com

  5. Shootings and bottle throwing break-ins amongst the protesters, is this any surprise that
policing is going to ramp up to this level

Trigger Happy cop! What about the cop pointing his assault riffles at the protesters last week. Are they going to fire them as we watched live last week during MSNBC live footage being reported by reporter Traymaine. Who’s to say that those trigger happy racist cops are not maltias. They pass the polygraph test, glide through the background checks and police academy and once they’re on the force the truth about who they really are comes out based upon their actions towards minority citizens.

He’s a TICKING TIME BOMB WAITING TO EXPLODE ANY SECOND. It’s too many of them like him on the force walking around with a license to kill and a lot of racial hate within. Thank GOD for the camera’s capturing live footage.
