The Boondocks” creator Aaron McGruder is returning to Adult Swim with a first-look development deal.

Now he has a couple of projects in the works with the network including “Hooligan Squad.”

The upcoming live-action comedy will focus on a futuristic US ran by Japan and a small group of Americans trying to take back San Francisco.

McGruder also has “Black Jesus” premiering next month on Adult Swim.

“It’s a rare thing to have a network home,” McGruder said in a statement. “Even more rare is a home that wants to see you grow and expand as a creator. Adult Swim is headed to new horizons and I’m happy to be along for the ride.”

“Black Jesus” finds himself in Compton, Ca. trying to spread love and kindness a day at a time. He gets help from his small, but loyal group of followers.

This is great news for McGruder — after deciding not to be involved with the fourth season of “The Boondocks.”

The live-action comedy “Black Jesus” will premiere on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 on Adult Swim.
