Nick Cannon may offer words of encouragement to aspiring stars on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” but when it comes to his own kids, he’s hoping they stay as far away from that show – and showbiz – as possible.

“Only reason why I say that is, I want them to strive for something more than what’s in their wheelhouse,” Cannon told EURweb. “For them to be entertainers, it’s gonna be pretty easy. I mean, Mom and Dad work in entertainment. So, I want to encourage something [in which] they can have their own sense of accomplishment – to know, ‘Oh, if I put this much hard work into it, it would actually pay off, and I did it on my own.’”

Thankfully, his 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, with wife Mariah Carey, have a little time before deciding their career paths. But, if they do choose to follow in their parents’ footsteps, let’s just say it won’t be because Mom and Dad egged them on.

Because his hand is in every corner of the entertainment business – from hosting “America’s Got Talent,” to making executive decisions at Nickelodeon – Cannon says he’s seen first hand the pitfalls experienced by some Hollywood kids.

Furthermore, he doesn’t ever want Dem Babies to be accused of trying to cash in on their last name.
