Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson hit it big at the box office last year with “Pain & Gain,” which co-stars Mark Wahlberg and now the two are back at it, but this time for a half-hour dramedy pilot set for HBO.
Centered around a group of retired athletes living in Miami, the series will be executive produced by Stephen Levinson (“Entourage”) and will also involve Peter Berg.
Being a retired athlete might bode well for The Rock, being that he’s a wrestler and former football player himself. For years he has been eye candy and brutal entertainment for both women and men. He then took a break to spread his wings in acting. The 6-foot-5 actor’s 15 movies have grossed more than $2.3 billion at the global box office.
