Tweet thinks Twitter bit off her name and brand to create the widely popular social media network.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, the singer claims she has a copyright infringement case against Twitter if she decides to sue.

Saying, “I was here first, and they took everything that I brought to the table. I brought the bird, the name and I will never change. I’ve been Tweet since I was a little girl. It’s not a phase name, that’s who I am. My father gave me that nickname, so no way am I changing that at all.” Adding, they [Twitter] needs to change something up, not her.

After being questioned about the possible lawsuit, she told AllHipHop, “Yes, there is a case, and there is room for that. I haven’t really pursued it fully yet.”

Tweet is best known for her 2002 smash single “Oops (Oh My)” produced by Timbaland.
