The History Channel is airing a 10-part miniseries “The Bible” on both its network and on Lifetime. The 10 episodes tell the major stories of The Bible from Genesis to Revelations. Airing every Sunday from March 3 through its conclusion on Easter Sunday, March 31, conjunction “The Bible,” is narrated by Emmy award-winning actor Keith David.

On April 5, “The Bible” will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and on DVD. The four-disc DVD and Blu-Ray will include special behind-the-scenes content including the making of the mini-series in the Morrocan desert, features about how “The Bible” was cast and more information on how the project was conceived and developed.

There are a variety of online resources for families, churches and individuals for further discussion and study as well as information about free “The Bible” party hosting kits that can be ordered online.

“The Bible is a sacred text that continues to challenge and inspire,” said “Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett, whose wife, “Touched By An Angel” star Roma Downey is both co-executive producer and plays Mother Mary in “The Bible.” “We’ve been working on this project for the past two years and are deeply humbled to be given this once in a generation opportunity to breathe new visual life into the Bible’s profound stories.  The Bible gives meaning and purpose to billions of people around the world, and sparks the curiosity of millions more.”
