40-year-old Detroit Consortium basketball coach Al Anderson died on February 16 of a heart attack just hours after his team’s big win.
Anderson reportedly collapsed after a team dinner that occurred after the game and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In August 2011, Anderson was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and had received a pacemaker.
This was his sixth season as the team’s head coach. He leaves behind a wife and a 14-year-old daughter.
