Actor Forest Whitaker, 51, was reportedly frisked at a New York deli on February 15.
Whitaker who has appeared in countless films and is an Oscar winner was prohibited from leaving the Milano Market before he was stopped and searched by an employee.
According to reports, Whitaker was searched in front of other customers but of course, nothing was found.
TMZ reported that Whitaker’s camp released the following statement:
“This was an upsetting incident given the fact that Forest did nothing more than walk into the deli. What is most unfortunate about this situation is the inappropriate way store employees are treating patrons of their establishment. “
Whitaker did not file a formal complaint against the deli but he did ask that in the future the deli handle the situation in a different manner.
