Her last sleeping episode was in March. She said she’s afraid of when the next one will occur.
According to the Kleine-Levine Syndrome website, individuals suffering from the disorder can go days, weeks, months and years without seeing symptoms before it reappears without warning.
Other Kleine-Levin symptoms include disorientation, hallucination, binge-eating, child-like behavior as well as hyper-sexuality when waking up. The report said that the disorder primarily affects young men.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke tie the symptoms to parts of the brain that control appetite and sleep.
Doctors have yet to discover what causes the disorder.
