The Central Park 5 is taking legal actions against Donald Trump. At a small patch of Central Park flanking New York’s Harlem neighborhood, scores came Monday to remember the injustice that imprisoned five Black and Latino teenagers after they were wrongly accused and convicted of the 1989 rape of a white jogger.

Yusef Salaam, made famous for his highly-publicized Central Park 5 case, is reportedly taking his second chance at life all the way to the New York public office with an eye on filling the seat being left behind by Harlem State Senator Brian Benjamin.

Three of the five men previously known as the Central Park 5, now the Exonerated 5, are working for a state measure that would make some of the tactics used to wrongfully convict them, Illegal.  The measure would prohibit police from lying or presenting false evidence to suspects in order to obtain confessions.

New York asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit by a teacher who claims she was fired for how she taught a Central Park Five Lesson. The city claims her lesson was not protected by the First Amendment.
