Read what many are saying about Senator Ted Cruz bringing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. into Florida’s beef with the NAACP below, and let us know what you think of the travel advisory aimed at Ron DeSantis in general:
1. I fucking KNOW Rafael isn't presuming that MLK Jr. would've sided with Ron Desantis over the NAACP.
via @kraczkhousekeyz
2. The use of bizarre really takes me out. He’s trying to gaslight us into believing that Florida isn’t doing, everything the NAACP is saying, even tho we all have access to the internet and see the bills being signed by Desantis. And I wish they would let MLK rest.
via @EricaSc41146330
3. BATTLE LINES HAVE BEEN DRAWN… !!!! MLK JR'S Daughter has raised the battle flag ! Gov. Ron DeSantis is in the firing line and as well as Ted Cruz ! You CAN NOT AND WILL NOT DISRESPECT THE PEOPLE WHO VOTE ! FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN !
via @linkhauer
4. Enough with your dishonest and ill-informed projection. The NAACP is spot on and MLK would support their decision and lament how MAGA supporters including legislators like you and DeSantis have lost your way. You need to zip it and do something for Texas for once.
via @LSurteesTdot
5. DeSantis needs to take an extensive history course to learn the Emancipation Proclimation was issued in 1863, the Civil War ended in 1865, the political & social gains made in the 1960's, accomplishments of MLK & even much of FL disagrees with him.
via @ShariRB1Cat
6. Please don't try to tell me that MLK would be ok with DeSantis whitewashed history. Ridiculous!
via @DennisEdmonds3
7. As a Black American no travel advisory, Gov Ron DeSantis, Maga Trump followers, or devil in hell, will keep me from going to the Sunshine St. if I want too. In words of MLK, Jr. "I'm not fearing any man, or anything, mine eyes have seen the coming of the Lord, and His truth…!"
via @ThomasApt06
8. Ted Cruz said MLK Jr would’ve been ashamed of the NAACP’s Florida stand; face it, even MLK Jr would’ve kicked Cruz in the nuts!
via @paul_lander
9. It's as if Ten "Cancun" Cruz carefully invokes MLK's memory only when it's convenient for him, when the odds are VERY strong that Dr. King might have abandoned non-violence, just for a moment, to give Ted a boot in the groin.
via @Michael_Of_Crue
10. Ted Cruz invoking MLK for his own nasty agenda, only to be slapped down by King’s daughter, says everything we need to know.
via @GailSimone
