For the first time ever, the NFL worked with a local New Orleans artist to handcraft the Super Bowl logo and theme art. The designs are a vibrant expression of the city’s local culture and a celebration of Super Bowl LIX.

Who is Tahj Williams?
Tahj Williams, also known as Queen Tahj, is culture bearer and expert of Black Masking suit design, an art form specific to New Orleans, Louisiana. The Black Masking tradition originated as part of the Indigenous and African culture in the city. The intricate process of creating a suit in the New Orleans Black Masking carnival tradition usually involves hand sewing and designing for one full year. These suits are displayed during Mardi Gras, St. Joseph’s Night and Super Sunday in New Orleans.
Currently, Queen Tahj is a member of the Golden Eagles Tribe under the leadership of Big Chief Joseph “Monk” Boudreaux and 2nd Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. She is passionate about educating others on the art of sewing and beading a suit, speaking about the Black Masking culture and traditions, and mentoring youth interested in masking and cultural related events.
