Last night (April 12), undefeated boxer and TV host Laila Ali, actor Khris Davis, boxing icon George Foreman and many more gathered in Atlanta to celebrate the premiere of the upcoming film
Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story Of The Once And Future Heavyweight Champion Of The World.
At the special Atlanta screening of
Big George Foreman, undefeated professional boxing icon and daughter of the legendary Muhammad Ali, Laila Ali helped celebrate the life and legacy of George Foreman by moderating post screening Q&As with both Foreman and lead actor Khris Davis. Met with roaring applause at the film’s end, Foreman encouraged audience members to embrace the idea of second chances and to never stop fighting for their dreams, while Khris Davis was met with rave responses for his raw and honest portrayal of the boxing legend.
Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World is based on the remarkable true story of one of the greatest comebacks of all time and the transformational power of second chances. Fueled by an impoverished childhood, Foreman channeled his anger into becoming an Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion, followed by a near-death experience that took him from the boxing ring to the pulpit. But when he sees his community struggling spiritually and financially, Foreman returns to the ring and makes history by reclaiming his title, becoming the oldest and most improbable World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever.
The film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker George Tillman Jr. from a story by Dan Gordon and Frank Baldwin & George Tillman Jr, and a screenplay by Baldwin & Tillman. Khris Davis (
Judas and the Black Messiah) stars as Foreman and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker stars as Foreman’s trainer and mentor Doc Broadus. The film also stars Jasmine Mathews, Sullivan Jones, Lawrence Gilliard Jr.,John Magaro and Sonja Sohn.
