2024 was a fun year in entertainment with lots of new competition shows debuting on our TV screens and old reliables who keep us watching. Being a part of the journey of a contestant winning big is always an intriguing experience and when a Black person makes their way to finals, you already know who we’re rooting for! Below is a list of 18 Black people who won Reality competition shows in 2024.

Warning: These are a bit of Spoiler Alerts so if you’re planning to binge these Reality Competition Shows don’t let me ruin it for you! I’ve also included where you can stream each show to root for these winners along the way!

Love Island USA – Serena and Kordell

The winning couple, Serena Page and Kordell Beckham gained the most votes and chose to split the $100,000 grand prize. Stream ‘Love is Blind USA’ on Peacock.

Love Island UK – Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan

Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan are the first Black couple to win the original ‘Love Island’ and the two decided to split the £50,000 grand prize. Stream ‘Love is Blind UK’ on Peacock.

House of Villains – Safaree

Safaree Samuels won House of Villains season 2 with the grand prize of both winners of $200,000. He becomes the second Black person to gain the “America’s Ultimate Supervillain” title with Tanisha Thomas winning season one. Stream ‘House of Villains’ on Hulu and Peacock.

The Trust – Tolú Ekundare

Tolú Ekundare along with Brian Firebaugh, Julie Theis, Gaspare Randazzo, and Jake Chocholous split the prize money, getting $48,600 each. Stream ‘The Trust’ on Netflix.

Too Hot To Handle – Bri Balram and Demari Davis

For the first time, 2 couples won the grand prize fund of $125,000. Bri Balram and Demari Davis were chosen to win $100,000 and the runners-up couple Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell won the remaining $25,000. Stream ‘Too Hot To Handle’ on Netflix.

Perfect Match – Christine Obanor and Nigel Jones

Christine Obanor and Nigel Jones were the winners of season 2 of Perfect Match receiving an all-expenses-paid vacation to Thailand. Nigel is the second Black man to win the grand prize along with season one winner Dom Gabriel who was coupled with Georgia Hassarati. Stream ‘Perfect Match’ on Netflix.

Big Brother – Chelsie Baham

Chelsie Baham was the Big Brother season 26 grand prize winner of $750,000. She joins 2 other Black winners; Xavier Prather from season 23 and Taylor Hale from season 24. Stream ‘Big Brother’ on Paramount Plus.

Deal or No Deal Island – Jordan Fowler

Jordan Fowler was the season 2 winner of Deal or No Deal Island earning $1.23 million. Stream ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ on Peacock and Hulu.

The Anonymous – Nina Twine

Nina Twine was first winner of The Anonymous with the grand prize of $100,000. She shared in her instagram post “Can’t spell Twine without W.I.N.” Stream ‘The Anonymous’ on Peacock.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars – Angeria Paris VanMicheals

Angeria Paris VanMicheals is the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 9 grand prize winner of $200,000. Angeria joins 3 other Black All-Star winners; Jaida Essence Hall from season 7, Shea Couleé from season 5 and Monét X Change who shared the season 4 win with Trinity The Tuck. Dragula – Asia Consent

Asia Consent won season 6 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula earning $100,000. She is the first Black Trans Woman to win The World’s Next Drag Supermonster title. Steam ‘The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula’ on AMC Plus.

Dating Naked UK – Jono Brown

Jono Brown is the winner of the first Dating Naked UK season, receiving £50,000. Stream ‘Dating Naked UK’ on Paramount Plus and Amazon Prime.

Love Island Australia – Mercedes Knoxx

Mercedes Knoxx was coupled up with Em Miguel Leigh on Love Island Australia and were crowned the winners of $50,000 AUD and they chose to split the prize. Stream ‘Love Island Australia’ on Hulu.

Rhythm + Flow – DreTL

DreTL is the second winner and second Black man to win Rhythm + Flow taking home the $250,000 grand prize. Stream ‘Rhythm + Flow’ on Netflix.
